Vail Mountain closes to the public at the end of the season even snow (late April) due to the migration of animals, because it is located in White River National Forest. It opens to the public in June, hiking and biking (non-motorized vehicles) and September / October.
There are other places like Loveland and Arapaho Basin, the drive to stay open longer for spring skiing, sometimes until 4 July. Check their websites for more information.
